This bag lasted for years and is very comfortable and soft. So I bought it again.It does wear out if you use them a lot but no more than anything else. I have dogs who chewed and destroyed the zipper and scratch on the bags trying to get comfortable. But I used it without the zipper for years. I'm sure the zipper would have held up if it wasn't for my dogs. We all got in the bag on one particularly cold camping trip, 2 of us 2 big dogs and 2 cats. Haha it was tight but very cold outside. It was one of those nights that you'd call a 3 dog night. We kept warm. If you don't have dogs to help, probably just need a blanket along the zipper when it's really cold but this bag usually works when it's just me using it and I want to be comfortable with lots of room. I highly recommend this bag for whatever temperature you might be in ...unless it's snowing and wouldn't get anything else. On that particularly cold night driving into the camp spot we like to camp, we past an area where it was snowing briefly. Our spot was a little lower altitude and it didn't snow there. So I think this sleeping bag is perfect for a variety of temperatures. Not too hot and not too cold.
